Port of Wines Festival
The Port of Wines Festival is Nova Scotia’s premier wine event, showcasing unique and award-winning wines from all over the world. This year will mark the festival’s 20th anniversary and, rather than focusing on a feature country, this year’s festival will be all about celebrating 20 years of sharing great wine with our customers. This year’s event will take place September 23-27th and feature a number of wines from France, Italy, USA, Australia and more!
Grand Tastings – Friday, September 25th and Saturday September 26th
Over 4,000 people attend the Grand Tasting sessions over the course of the two-day tasting event. Over 350 wines are showcased and available for sampling, with a large selection of festival-only offerings. Guests have the opportunity to purchase the wines they sample at the on-site store.
Session times are:
- Friday, September 25th 1:00pm-4:00pm
- Friday, September 25th 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Saturday, September 26th 1:00pm-4:00pm
- Saturday, September 26th 7:00pm-10:00pm
Tickets are $50 tax included for the afternoon tastings, $65 tax included for the evening tastings and $100 tax included for the All-Access pass, which gives you access to all four tasting sessions. Tickets for the 2015 Port of Wines Festival Grand Tastings go on sale on Monday, August 17th and will be sold at select stores and through Ticket Atlantic.
Winemakers’ Dinner and Auction – Thursday, September 24th
The Winemakers’ Dinner and Auction is one of Nova Scotia’s most prestigious celebrations of food and music. This event includes a four-course dinner with wine pairing and features a special performance by Symphony Nova Scotia’s full orchestra. A silent and live auction is held at this event, with all funds raised going to Symphony Nova Scotia.
This year’s Winemakers’ Dinner will be on Thursday, September 24th at the Cunard Centre and tickets are $180+tax per person for $1440+tax for a table of eight. For ticket inquiries, please click HERE.
An Evening with Winemakers from around the World – Wednesday, September 23rd
Discover new favourites during this specially prepared tasting and dining experience. To help bring the wines to life, chief winemakers and experts will take you through an experience of the senses, as we learn about the wines that are being tasted. This evening will help you unlock the mystery in the bottle, as you savour delicious, specially prepared food parings along the way.
