Job Description

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) is a provincial crown corporation and one of the province’s largest retailers with a mandate to manage the safe and responsible distribution and sale of beverage alcohol and recreational cannabis. Venor is proud to partner with NSLC for the recruitment of a Sponsorship & Community Engagement Manager. Reporting to the Director – Customer Strategy, the Sponsorship & Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the strategy and execution of NSLC’s community partnerships, fundraising programs, community-focused employee initiatives/events, and other CSR-related initiatives that help drive this good.

The Sponsorship & Community Engagement Manager will collaborate internally and externally to align the Community Strategy to the NSLC’s purpose and brand. They will develop and deepen relationships with community partners to deliver on the strategy and support NSLC’s corporate reputation.  These strategic partnerships aim to improve the level, effectiveness, consistency and quality of NSLC’s community participation as an organization working to make Nova Scotia stronger. The Sponsorship & Community Engagement Manager assists in the development of reporting capabilities to support the CSR Plan and supports approaches that enable the NSLC to measure change. This individual represents the CSR business unit on a variety of cross-functional teams and initiatives, internally and externally, ensuring that CSR operational requirements are well defined and communicated. The Sponsorship & Community Engagement Manager will be a key part of developing programs and initiatives that NSLC employees are proud of, that vendors and customers want to participate in and, ultimately,  celebrate the good NSLC does for Nova Scotia.

As the ideal candidate, you have an undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications or another related field, combined with proven PR/communications experience in the areas of fundraising strategies, employee engagement, and event/project management. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative self-starter who excels in storytelling and building strong partnerships.  Experience working in a retail environment or crown corporation would be an asset.
