The NSLC, Halifax Metro Centre and Labatt are inviting designated drivers to “take one for the team” as the Budweiser Good Sport program kickstarts tonight at the Halifax Mooseheads game. By taking the Good Sport pledge to become a designated driver, fans can walk away with a free soft drink at the game and any event hosted by the Halifax Metro Centre.
“The Budweiser Good Sport program helps us create an environment where smart choices are not only encouraged, but rewarded,” said Bret Mitchell, President and CEO, NSLC. “We see this as a great opportunity to educate the community while still contributing to the enjoyment and excitement the Metro Centre is known for.”
Participation begins by agreeing not to drink alcohol during the event and to provide a safe drive home for companions. After that, the individual can enjoy a free drink with each and every return to the Metro Centre. Registration is fast and easy, and can be completed at the Budweiser Good Sport booth at the Metro Centre Sports Bar.
“We are proud to partner with the NSLC and Halifax Metro Centre to bring this program to Nova Scotia,” said Wade Keller, Corporate Affairs-Atlantic, Labatt Breweries of Canada. “This is one of the first times it’s been launched at a facility this size, so this is a real ground-breaker for the region. We’re thrilled to give Nova Scotians yet another reason to act responsibly, and thank the NSLC and the Halifax Metro Centre for their participation in this important program.”
"The Halifax Metro Centre hosts thousands of patrons a year and we recognize the important role we play in ensuring visitors to our facility have a safe, enjoyable experience," said Trade Centre Limited president and CEO Scott Ferguson. "We’re proud to support a program that we believe will have a positive impact on our community."
