We are where Nova Scotians shop for wine, beer, cider, spirits and cannabis. We’ve been entrusted with this responsibility and we take it very seriously. We are actively monitoring all developments related to COVID-19 and keeping in contact with the government so we can make the best possible decisions, given the evolving uncertainty. 

We are committed to transparency in communicating with our employees and customers. We are providing updates as we become aware of confirmed cases of COVID-19 related to NSLC employees.

Our front-line and Distribution Centre employees are working long and hard hours, and they share the same concerns as you and your families. They are coming into work every day to serve you, and our ability to keep our stores open depends on their health and well-being. Collectively, we need to look after them and our customers – we are all in this together.


We’re extending our hours! Effective Thursday, May 21, many of our stores will be open until 9:00 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. Store hours Monday to Wednesday will remain the same – opening at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 6:00 p.m. with all stores closed on Sundays. As this situation evolves, some NSLC stores may need to close without notice, adjust their hours and/or days of operation. We will post any temporary store closures here.


We are committed to keeping our communities safe, and we have taken a number of steps to create a safer environment in our stores. These safety measures may lead to longer than usual wait times.

Our cleaning and sanitization protocols have been elevated and we have installed plexi-glass barriers at cash. To promote physical distancing, we are limiting the number of customers in our stores at one time (5, one per household). Following public health guidance, we require employees or customers who have recently travelled outside of Nova Scotia or who are experiencing symptoms to not come into our stores.

Respectful behaviour is expected. Acts of aggression, intimidation and harassment will not be tolerated in our stores.

We are also asking our customers to please respect the following safety measures:

  • Plan ahead. Limit your number of visits and do not shop more than once per week.
  • Practice physical distancing by staying 6 feet apart from customers and staff.
  • Pay with debit or credit cards and avoid using cash whenever possible.
  • Bag your own purchase and make your purchase promptly.


For cannabis, online shopping continues to be an option at mynslc.com/cannabis. You will need an access code, which can be picked up at any NSLC store by presenting valid ID. Canada Post is experiencing delays and cannabis deliveries are taking longer than the usual 3-5 business days. Thank you for your understanding. Canada Post is not currently validating IDs at the door and deliveries will not be sent to your home at this time. A notice card indicating the post office where customers can pick up their items by showing proof of identity will be left in your mailbox.


All NSLC events, including in-store tastings, have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
