Use these easy to make chocolate curls to add a decorative element to chocolate-based desserts.
3 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate
1 tbsp vegetable shortening
1. Melt 3 oz. of semi-sweet baking chocolate with 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening in a microwave.
2. Mix thoroughly and spread the melted chocolate very thin on a large cookie sheet. Freeze for 4 minutes.
3. Use the back of a metal spatula to scrape thin layers of chocolate into small curls.
