Fried Goat Cheese with Prosciutto and Honey

The Fried Goat Cheese with Prosciutto features goat cheese, slices of prosciutto honey. Best served with sprinkled salt for taste.

Ingredients

Vegetable oil, for frying

300 g goat cheese

1/4 cup flour

1 egg, beaten

3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs

1/2 tsp cracked black pepper

1/4 tsp salt

12 slices prosciutto

2 tbsp honey

Directions

1. Slice the goat cheese into 12 equal pieces, then roll into balls. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.

2. Heat 3 inches of oil in a heavy saucepan until it reaches 375°F.

3. Roll the goat cheese balls into the flour then dip in the beaten egg. Roll in the bread crumbs being sure to completely coat the balls.

4. Carefully drop a ball into the oil. Using a long spoon, gently roll them around so they don’t stick.

5. Fry for 1 minute, or until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining balls.

6. Top balls with prosciutto and drizzle with honey.
