To kick off the summer and a season of celebration, we’re reminding Nova Scotians to make getting home safely a part of their plans with a night of free rides with Halifax Transit! From 7 P.M. to the end of service, on Friday, June 27, all Halifax Transit services, including the bus, ferries, and Access-A-Bus, are free courtesy of the NSLC.
Heading to the Halifax Music Fest? Going for dinner with family? Meeting up with friends for a chill night in? However you’re celebrating this summer, make getting home safely part of your plans. Don’t drive impaired.
Find a Safe Ride
As part of our Community Investment initiatives, the NSLC's Safe Rides program helps ensure Nova Scotians get home safely from sponsored events and celebrations across Nova Scotia by offering taxi coupons, shuttle services, or free transit rides.
Watch for more information about how you can find a safe ride home at these upcoming events!

What are you willing to miss?
One poor choice could take away life’s biggest moments. What are you willing to miss?
If you make the choice to drive impaired, you are risking life’s important memories, celebrations, and milestones, for yourself, your loved ones, and those around you. Be there for them.
Make the responsible choice and plan ahead to get home safely. Call a friend, a taxi, an Uber, or take public transit.
Don’t drive impaired.
Make a Plan to Get Home Safely
Whether you’re planning an impromptu get-together or you’re planning for life’s biggest celebrations, make sure planning to get home safe is always top of mind. Make the responsible choice, never drive impaired.
Always have a plan. Designate a sober driver or have a trusted friend or family member pick you up. Take a taxi, use public transit or a ride-sharing service like Uber where available. Try to book ahead when you can, or have the number or app handy so you’re always ready.
