    The Aviation was created by Hugo Ensslin, head bartender at the Hotel Wallick in New York, in the early twentieth century.

    1 fl oz Beefeater Gin

    1/2 fl oz maraschino liqueur

    1/2 fl oz lemon juice

    Maraschino cherry

    Directions

    Add Beefeater Gin, maraschino liqueur and lemon juice to a shaker.

    Add ice and shake very hard for 15-20 seconds.

    Strain into chilled martini glasses.

    Garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry.
