What Makes Them Unique
Nine Locks was born out of a late-night fireside chat between cousins Shaun and Danny O'Hearn with a vision to craft the finest beer in Nova Scotia. Located on the historic Shubenacadie Canal, the 9 locks from which they derive their name. The owners never lose their humour; you can find a complimentary joke tucked away on the label of their products, something fans have learned to look out for.
About Their Products
If you had told the owners of Nine Locks that they would outgrow their original home within seven short years, they would have done a double take. Staying true to their Dartmouthian roots, Nine Locks broke ground on their new production facility and tap room in late 2021, their new tap room is now open for customers to enjoy! The new facility will allow them to produce over 200 cans a minute, increasing efficiency and sustainability.
They will still be producing their fan favourite products like the Dirty Blonde with a light, crisp effervescence, this North American- style Weitzen brewed with Canadian wheat and barley is a favourite among Nova Scotians.
The Frig Off East Coast IPA might suit you if you want something hoppier. This super hazy, soft, silky-smooth beer has a light bitterness with a huge citrus flavour.
