Thanks to the generosity of our team, supplier partners, participating agency stores, and customers this holiday season, we’re donating $310,365 to our community partners;
Habitat for Humanity,
Feed Nova Scotia and
MADD Canada. Together, we are making an impact in the lives of many Nova Scotians through support for food security, building homes, and stopping impaired driving. Thank you for coming together for the good of our community!
This December we also partnered with
Halifax Transit to provide options for getting home safely on two of their busiest days of the holiday season. On the evenings of Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, we sponsored free Halifax Transit bus, Access-A-Bus and ferry rides for 32,000 Nova Scotians. Cheers to celebrating responsibly this holiday season.
For the Good of Our Community Fund
Together with our supplier partners, and as part of the evolution of our community investment program, the NSLC established the For the Good of Our Community Fund in the fall of 2021.
Thirteen organizations have been named recipients of this year’s fund and will receive a total of up to $140,000. The annual community investment fund prioritizes initiatives that support community wellbeing, environment, and responsibility stewardship, and is helping us deliver on our commitment to building healthy and sustainable communities in our province.
These innovative programs and projects will help those in our communities across Nova Scotia facing homelessness by providing food, furniture, and financial support; will work to build affordable homes; help to pay expenses related to receiving medical treatment; and develop accessible outdoor trails and green spaces.
