Father's Day gift guide

A basket of wine bottles and a wine glass

Struggling to find the perfect gift for your dad this Father’s Day? Avoid getting him yet another tie and try one of our gift suggestions instead.

1. A handpicked selection of his favourite refreshments

A foolproof choice is giving Dad a selection of his favourite – and soon to be favourite - beverages. That can include everything from a classic Canadian rye to a new whisky, wine or beer he has yet to try. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, you can even create your own wine, beer or spirits gift basket. See our product suggestions below from some helpful ideas.

2. A local experience to share together

Quality time together is another gift dad is sure to love. Based on what he likes to do, book an event or excursion just for the two of you. Luckily you live in a province with no shortage of fun things to do. Maybe Dad is a big sports fan and season tickets to the Hurricanes would be right up his alley. Or perhaps he’s more of a theatre guy and would rather see a play at the Neptune Theatre, in Halifax, or one of the many local theatres across the province.

More into outdoor adventures? In Nova Scotia, the list of outdoor activities is endless.

3. Mix it up

If your dad is an appreciator of finely crafted cocktails, take him out to dinner at one of Nova Scotia’s restaurants known as much for their signature drinks as their signature dishes. For some suggestions, click here.

You can also plan to attend a “Mixology” event together at The Port, in Halifax, where Jenner Cormier (Canada’s Best Bartender, 2013) will be hosting a monthly mixology series. Visit mynslc.com/events to find out more.
