Celebrate your heritage

The third Monday in February is Heritage Day in Nova Scotia. It’s an annual opportunity to celebrate our diverse culture and the exceptional people, places and events that have shaped our province.

This year’s Heritage Day will celebrate a member of the Dutch Resistance, Mona Parsons, who was the sole Canadian woman to be imprisoned in World War 2 by the Germans.

Heritage day is a great chance to celebrate people that have become part of Nova Scotia’s rich past and present. And when celebrating our province’s history, sharing food and drink are often the best way to bring people together.

Have some fun on Heritage Day by having friends over to share in a feast inspired by our province. Or make it an international potluck, by inviting people in your life with different backgrounds to bring their favourite food and drinks.

It’s a fantastic way to learn something new and enjoy a delicious meal while you’re at it.
