Cottage season is all about fun in the sun and rest and relaxation. But before you invite your friends and family for a fun-filled weekend, you’ll want to make sure that your fridge is stocked with everyone’s favourite go-to cottage drinks.

Beer

Nothing says cottage weekend like beer in the fridge. Bright & Balanced blonde ales are a great alternative to lagers in warmer weather and are generally mild in flavour and lightly carbonated, which gives them a nice refreshing quality.

Cider

A good cider contains all the complexity and depth of flavour that you’re used to in beer or wine. For example, cider has the fruitiness of wine and undergoes a very similar fermentation process to beer. A fresh, thirst-quenching summer beverage, cider is a great option to have on hand at the cottage.

Wine

Always keep a bottle of red and white wine in the kitchen if you’re having guests at the cottage. You never know what their preferences may be. Sparkling wines and rosés are also cottage
favourites, especially if you’re hosting a celebration. But they are also light and refreshing alternatives, perfect for any occasion.

Spirits

If you’re having company who prefer mixed drinks or cocktails, it’s a good idea to fully stock your fridge and bar with some classic bar staples (rum, vodka, gin, whisky, etc.) as well some mixing standards (fruit juices, soda, sparkling water).

Coolers

Another great option for the cottage are coolers, which come in single-serve bottles that you can keep chilled in the fridge. And, from hard sodas and teas to classic wine and spirit coolers, never before have there been so many exciting flavours to choose from.

Non-alcoholic

Remember to include a nice variety of non-alcoholic beverages as well. From fruit juice to soda to fresh squeezed lemonade, it’s a good idea to make an effort to accommodate any guests choosing not to drink alcohol. Mocktails are also a delicious alternative.
